 Protip for people who are bad at movies: while not directly stated, it is made rather abundantly clear that the Norse Gods as presented in the movie ARE NOT GODS. They are god-LIKE and earth’s Norse mythology is obviously meant to be the result of human interaction with them, but they are NOT ACTUALLY GODS.  They’re extra-planar beings with incredibly advanced technology that VERY LITERALLY follows the trope of “sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. 

There.  Now EVERYONE CAN STOP WHINING ABOUT THEM NOT BEING THE SAME.  They’re not MEANT to be the same.  You’re not a special snowflake who knows the truth about how horrible and wrong the movie is, you are in fact JUST BAD AT UNDERSTANDING MOVIES.

Or, you know, some of us could just dislike seeing someone’s culture being fucked with, not to mention some of us actually believe in those gods and don’t like the portrayals of them. Yeah, the movie isn’t really based off of Norse mythology but that doesn’t mean that people who don’t like it for the above reasons (or any other reason that I can’t think of right now) are bad at understanding movies or think they’re special snowflakes.

People are allowed to dislike things for whatever reasons they choose. Chill the fuck out. :p
